Kathryn “Kitty” Barfield is a professional Floral Designer, Event Planner & Master Stencilist. She has studied floral & event artistry under such floral masters as Libby Hodges Oliver, former Horticulturist and Floral Designer of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, as well as Ty Leslie, A.F.I.D., and Linda Roeckelin of the Washington National Cathedral.  Some of Kitty’s weddings and events have been published in several national magazines, and have created floral designs for several of our Georgia Governors. She credits her inherited creativity from her maternal grandmother Lucia Tharpe, nee Reddy.


Kitty was the Event Coordinator for The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation at Hay House in Macon. She served as one of the Christmas Designers for over ten years at Hay House and The Woodruff House.


Kitty, and her husband Terry, own Merci; a mural and furniture painting business, which also sells one of a kind handmade jewel boxes. After attending the Culinary Institute in Florence Italy, she realized how much she loved to bake. Kitty wanted to honor and celebrate one of her best friend’s life. That was the beginning of Sweet Becky’s Cookies. Sweet Becky’s Cookies is a special order cookie business.


Kitty is married to the love of her life, Terry Barfield. They have one daughter, Brandi as well as three cats and five “grandcats”. She is currently writing three books and she and Terry plan to open a shop later in the year. Kitty feels that God is her stronghold and daily guide. She gives him the gratitude for gifts and talents that He has bestowed on her.
